Ongoing Projects

Kafouli - Teriya Bobo-Bâle stands for Together - Bobo-Basel Friendship and is an association and neighborhood center based in Sarfalao, Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. We are public administrators, teachers, researchers, nurses, businesspeople, based in Bobo and in Basel, Switzerland. Our main aim is to support the resiliency of our neighbors through continued education; emergency support is part of our immediate focus during politically difficult periods.

As a scholar of Africa, I have a natural affinity for novels situated in Africa. And I believe novels can enhance, add to, and expand upon our academic knowledge. For this reason I have conceptualized The Africa Bookshelf, which is a list of works of fiction, whose story is situated in Africa. All books available on The Africa Bookshelf are written by authors from the continent and beyond. This is an intriguing idea isn't it? Physically, the Africa Bookshelf can be found at the Swiss TPH library in Allschwil by Basel, Switzerland. 

The Newsletter of the Swiss Society for African Studies comes out twice a year. As board member of the Swiss Society for African Studies (SSAS) and editor-in-chief of the Society's Newsletter, I am responsible for soliciting novel, relevant, and well written articles.
